Prof. Shimon Slavin, MD, is the former longtime bone marrow transplantation wizard and stem cell research guru at Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem. He retired from that position recently to create the International Center for Cell Therapy & Cancer Immunotherapy [CTCI]. Dr Slavin knows that terminal patients are not willing to wait until embryonic stem cells are available for implanting into humans.
